Using this site in a different way

When I originally built this website I saw it as a work tool, basically a digital CV (it’s still there). I had been a local government employee and was starting out with different roles in community energy.

Over the past decade I’ve continued that journey, I’ve been able to work with fantastic and inspiring individuals. The local government career recedes ever further into the distance.

I’ve used social media over the last decade. LinkedIn for work, Twitter/X for more politics/finance issues and a very small Facebook network for family and friends.

I’m reviewing that now. I do feel social media had been a power for good, but that’s much less clear these days. My twitter feed is cluttered with implausible followers and Facebook is full of designer tat.

So I’m pruning back on all of those.

At the same time over the last few years I’ve become more interested in sustainability, but also issues around minimalism and balanced living.

So I’m going to use this website to explore all of those issues as well as the work issues that I originally envisaged.

I was a senior local government manager. I now work to ensure a fair energy transition.
